Mixing alcohol with energy drinks is becoming a famous way of ingesting alcohol. The reason why people love mixing these two together is the weird effect of being completely awake and drunk at the same time. But what people do not know is consuming too much of this concoction is its health risk.

You already see the recommended amount of energy drinks you can consume at the labels of the drinks. Usually the recommended is only one serving of energy drink because excessive consumption of caffeine and taurine can lead to cardiac arrest. Even just excessive consumption of energy drinks can lead to health risk, what more can happen if it is paired up with alcohol?

The myth going around is that consuming energy drinks will blunt the effects of alcohol, so you can stay awake and alert even after a binge drinking session. However, recent studies have proven that mixing energy drinks with alcohol does not improve performance on a driving test. The truth is, caffeine does not mitigate the impairment effects of alcohol. Research has also shown that people who mix the two are twice more likely to suffer alcohol-related injuries and twice more likely to be in need of medical attention. FDA has actually banned alcohol drinks sold with caffeine because of this danger.

But how can we resist that Jagerbomb party? The mix of alcohol and energy drink does give a buzz that alcohol alone cannot give you. We could still mix both of these drinks but the technique is to only consume 1 serving/bottle of energy drink. Going beyond that might be dangerous to your health. Remember, everything in moderation - even alcohol.
